High Fired Stoneware

The kiln is fired for 18-20 hours with propane gas to approximately 1285C and then cooled for two days before unloading. During the firing the kiln is starved of oxygen causing a reduction atmosphere; the resulting glazes have rich, intense colour unique to reduction firing. Every firing is varied. I mix and continually test and develop my own new glazes. The ware is lead free, microwavable and dishwasher safe. Use and enjoy!

The kiln is loaded with glazed ware. The kiln car is then rolled into the kiln for firing.

A very successful firing cooled and ready to unload.

It is always exciting to see the results of experimentation.
